The Patron Celebration of St. Matthew the Apostle is September 21st. As most patron celebrations in Molise, it is usual to begin religious festivities a couple of days before and conclude with fireworks and live performances.

The Celebration of St. Matthew the Apostle, in honor of the Patron Saint of Montenero di Bisaccia, is characterized by a succession of religious events that take place mainly on September 21st. While, during the day before, seen as a sort of day of preparation to religious tradition, there are a series of Eucharistic celebrations and confessions that take place from 7 am to 5 pm. The place of this celebration is the Mother Church of Montenero di Bisaccia, the Church of St. Matthew the Apostle, located in the center town near the town hall. On the morning of the 21st, two Masses are celebrated at 7 am and 11 am, in the afternoon at 6 pm is celebrated the vespertina and finally at 19.30 the statue of the Patron is brought in procession along the streets of the town. In the evening, there are events in Piazza della Libertà with music and markets.
