Architecture


The coastal territory, although it is still little known and undervalued, contains many evidences of particular importance, such as emergencies of historic and architectural value of great interest. The latter, in fact, appears one of the most significant assets of territory, however the level of knowledge is one of the most critical aspect in relation to its relevance. Architectural heritage is characterized by the presence of cathedrals, castles and military fortifications, almost all of medieval period that during the time have turned into noble residences. There are also squares, monuments and examples of civil architecture such as noble palaces, mostly of neoclassical origin.
